How Ballice Is Doing It’s Part In ‘Educating India’?

Ballice, as part of the community, has an ingrained sense of giving back to the less fortunate whenever possible in a way that is beneficial not just in the present but also exponentially as we go forward.

We took inspiration from iHUB DivyaSampark, a non profit company, which conducted a special drive to provide education to the Scheduled Tribe. The company is a joint initiative of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and IIT Roorkee, looking to create an environment of innovation, learning, and development as a key contributor of Digital India and ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’.

Why are such Education Drives important for the Scheduled Tribe?

The main focus of the drive was to provide the students in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community training in the various fields of Emerging Technologies. As part of the training program we visited various schools and colleges for a smooth and academically broadening experience.

It is necessary that we provide the less fortunate equality in opportunity and experience by empowering their education system first and foremost. The biggest issue that our less literate communities struggle with is the absence of such experiences, making them aware of the existing possibilities at an early age.

Ballice and our experts collaborated in the gratifying cause of educating the students about various topics and helping them visualize the various career paths in life should they choose to follow. A freedom of choice is only possible when one is aware that such a choice exists.

How was the drive conducted keeping in mind the needs?

Ajay Kansal (CEO, Ballice Smart Devices Pvt. Ltd.) took the initiative of giving the drive its structure. Collaborating with industry experts at Ballice and experienced trainers from the faculty of IITs and NITs, a training program was developed.

The salient points of the program we focussed on was providing a supportive and inclusive environment with well-thought out resource allocation so the students have a smooth and immersive learning experience. In preparing the students for the future, a number of emerging technologies were made the main part of the program, providing even more value to them in the near future.

The main disciplines in the training were –

  • Basic Drone Technology
  • Internet Of Things
  • Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
  • Mobile & Web App Development
  • Python Programming

Initially, a seminar addressed each batch of students and helped them understand the purpose of the training drive and how it can benefit each student individually. The students taking part in various workshops and learning sessions over the course of a few days helped students develop a sense of discipline without putting too much pressure on them. Regular evaluation allowed us to keep track of the progress the students were making, making sure that the session was useful for each and every one of the participating members.

Trophies were awarded to the various participating schools as a recognition of their efforts in improving the quality of education for their students.

Ballice is developing an independent branch for Education and Training purposes to conduct similar workshops in various schools and colleges going forward. We also look forward to any opportunity that allows us to share our experience and industry knowledge with the youth of our country.
